During the covid19 pandemic, we made an impulsive decision to move back to our hometown. Since the schools and offices were functioning remotely, it was easier to attend online classes from anywhere. As my children, aged 5 & 7 at that time, started attending the virtual school, I witnessed their classes. This made us realize how academies were slowly killing my children's creativity and setting them up for an average, mediocre life. This was unacceptable, so I moved them out of the regular school program and started their homeschooling.
During my homeschooling experience, I discovered the innovative ways education had evolved today. These engaging teaching methodologies are focused on increased knowledge retention with a focus on student-led activities. I understood why doing is more important than seeing. What is the importance of cue over tell?? Why "how to think" is important, not "what to think"?
There are considerable gaps in our education system. In a race to finish the curriculum and score the highest on a test, we have lost the purpose of education. Memorization is more critical than conceptual clarity and in-depth understanding.
Children are born scientists. They are curious learners who question every small thing around them. These inquisitive young learners are future scientists, artists, and thought leaders. "The Workshop" is an initiative that celebrates this curiosity.
"TheWorkshop" gives children a unique learning platform where they observe and question, think and explore, learn and apply. Join us as we raise these exceptional humans whose critical thinking and creative views will shape the future.
